Chatterbox: The Music Awards: just Tui much of a good time
05/03/2003

We cross now to the 38th New Zealand Music Awards. It was, by all accounts quite the best bash in years, but then
again some people just got very excited at being able to take their free drinks into the Aotea Centre theatre for the
ceremony. Some of them are still trying to make their way out of Aotea Square as you read this.

But it was certainly - mostly care of hosts Oliver Driver and Lucy Lawless (and her many frocks) - the funniest Tui
Awards show there had been in years. And care of performances from Blindspott (joined by rap crew Deceptikonz), the
D4 and Goldenhorse among others, one of the rockingest, too.

The winners you already know about, but here, in no particular order, are some other highlights, oddities, observations
and quotes which just kind of made the night, really...
