Her television adventures may be over, but "Xena: Warrior Princess" still attracts a crowd.
An estimated 5,000 people were expected to attend the annual three-day Xena Convention that runs through Sunday at the Pasadena Conference Center.
The TV show's final episode aired two years ago after six seasons.
On Saturday, mostly young and middle-aged women mingled among tables of Xena merchandise, scripts and autographed pictures.
The convention highlight was a live talk Saturday evening with Xena star Lucy Lawless and co-star Renee O'Connor, who played sidekick Gabrielle.
There also were talks by former cast members, clips and spoofs of the show, including a silent movie showing Xena and Gabrielle in a bathtub together, a reference to the perception by some viewers that they were lovers.
"We hang out and watch the stars," said Stephanie McCarren, 19, of Fullerton.
McCarren, who has been attending Xena conventions for three years, said her favorite character is Hudson Leick's, Callisto.
"This will be my fifth time seeing Hudson," she said. "She knows my name."
