Howland native gets directing credit on film                                 - 2 -

If the budget limited their options, it didn't limit the results. The movie is filled with hilarious scenes, from misadventures on a
nude beach and at an Amsterdam sex club to a finale at the Vatican where the teens manage to set the Pope's hat on fire and
convince the crowd in the papal city that the pontiff is dead.

It's the kind of outrageous humor that should click with those who turned ''Old School'' and ''American Pie'' into box-office hits
in recent years and hews to the traditions of comedies like ''Animal House'' and ''Porky's'' from a generation ago.

When Schaffer is told it is the movie every 15-year-old boy will want to sneak into, he laughed and said, ''Don't buy a ticket for
the Lindsay Lohan movie and then sneak into ours. Be a man. Get a fake ID.''

But he isn't making any predictions about how it will compete at the box office.

''I'm sure DreamWorks has an idea. As for me, I know my parents will see it and that's $16. I'll pay to see it, which is $24. After
that, it's out of my
control.''
