Ganesha is Spiritcavegrl's favorite Hindu God.
The Hindu God Ganesha has many functions in the Hindu pantheon. Not only is he the Lord of Wisdom but he is also the remover of obstacles. Hindus believe that in order to ensure smooth passage on the road to accomplishment, the God Ganesha must be kept happy. Because of this, he is worshiped together with Lakshimi during Diwali, the Festival of Lights. While Lakshimi is worshipped for wealth and prosperity, Ganesha is worshipped first to ensure that any obstacles to obtaining wealth and prosperity are removed.
The entrances to many homes in the Northern and Western parts of India often have the symbol of an elephant, or the Lord Ganesha in order to ward off mishaps and troubles, which ensures a peaceful stay in the house.
